Rajasthan’s one of the most amazing sacred routes – Ajmer, Khatushyamji, Salasar Balaji, and Jeen Mataji is exclusively offered by Ajmer Taxi Services as a same-day trip. The journey is around 450 to 480 kms round trip and takes 9 to 10 hours of driving, making it a longer single-day religious circuit from Ajmer.
This package is specially designed for devotees in Ajmer or Pushkar who are willing to cover three of the most popular shrines in a single day. Where Khatu Shyam ji is dedicated to Barbarik, and Jeen Mata ji is revered as the incarnation of Goddess Durga, on the other hand, Salasar Balaji is dedicated to the form of Hanuman ji. All three in one route, and that’s how a sacred trip brings peace and devotion to your routine life.
Please note: This is genuinely one of the longer same-day routes from Ajmer, and if you are traveling with an elderly group, then you can plan a one-night stay at the ashrams in Salasar Balaji Dham.

Khatu Shyamji Temple – Located in the town of Khatu in Sikar district, this ancient temple is dedicated to Khatu Shyamji, worshipped as a form of Lord Krishna. The deity is associated with Barbarik, son of Bhima and the serpent princess Ahilawati, who is believed to have been granted by Krishna the boon of being worshipped as a deity in the Kali Yuga.
Jeen Mataji Temple – Set amid the Aravalli hills near Sikar, the ancient temple is dedicated to Jeen Mata, regarded as an incarnation of Goddess Durga embodying shakti. The temple’s hillside setting and centuries-old origin make it a significant stop for devotees of the Goddess travelling through the region.
Salasar Balaji Temple – Located in the Churu district, the temple houses one of India’s most unique Hanuman idols – bearded and moustached, unlike the typical Vanara form seen elsewhere.
Salasar Balaji is widely regarded as a Siddha Peeth, a place where devotees believe sincere wishes are fulfilled and sees especially heavy footfall on Tuesday, Saturday, and the full moon of the Hindu calendar.
October to March are the best months for comfortable travel across a long day on the road.
Afternoons from April to June are best to avoid since Rajasthan’s heat can make a 9 to 10 hour drive very exhausting.
Khatu Mela at Khatu Shyamji and Hanuman Jayanti at Salasar Balaji see extremely heavy crowds, expect significantly longer queues and plan extra buffer time, or consider visiting outside these dates.
Tuesdays and Saturdays are typically busier at Salasar Balaji due to Hanumanji’s traditional worship days.
How to travel?
Travelers can choose any of these options for car rental in Ajmer, depending on their travel styles:
Sedan (Dzire/Etios) – 4 passengers
SUV (Innova/ Innova Crysta) – 6 to 7 passengers
Tempo travellers – 12 to 17 passengers
Reserve your ideal trip early for a hassle-free trip; secure comfort and convenience!
Yes, but it's a long day — around 450–480 km round trip and 9–10 hours of driving, with a pre-dawn start by 3–3:30 AM essential. For unhurried darshan at all three temples without the early start, our 2-day/1-night version with a halt at Salasar is a more relaxed option.
The most efficient route is Khatu Shyam Ji first, then Jeen Mata Ji (a short 25–30 km detour), and finally Salasar Balaji, before returning to Ajmer. This order minimizes backtracking since Jeen Mata Ji sits almost directly between the other two.
The road distance between Khatu Shyam Ji and Salasar Balaji is approximately 100–110 km via the direct route, though this tour routes through Jeen Mata Ji in between, making the practical leg-by-leg distance closer to 25–30 km to Jeen Mata and then 75–85 km onward to Salasar.
